Small studio. Big sky.
Night Sky Above started in 2021 when two printmakers in Pune wondered why star maps had to shout. We wanted something softer — a print that felt like a page from a field journal, not a poster from a planetarium gift shop.
We plot each chart using Yale Bright Star Catalogue data and stereographic projection — the same approach used by leading international star map makers. Then we print on recycled cotton rag paper in our studio, with optional solid oak frames sourced from Karnataka woodworkers.
What we believe
- Your moment deserves accuracy, not approximation
- Packaging should be as considered as the print itself
- One beautiful design done well beats twenty mediocre ones
